+ dog team of the year

Each year, + dog honors the client who has best embodied our mission of developing an enjoyable lifelong partnership with them and their dog. Last year, Josie with Harley (see below) took top honors. Who will it be this year? We'll make the announcement at Pawsapalooza 2014, so be sure to attend – date will be announced soon!

In addition to the prestigious honor of being + dog's 2013 dog-owner team of the year, the recipient receives an unlimited, lifetime scholarship to + dog for free classes and day school — that's right, a LIFETIME SCHOLARSHIP for your dog!

Are you the dog/owner team we're looking for? Are you the owner your dog wants you to be? Do you go above and beyond to look out for your dog's mental and physical well-being and overall lifelong happiness? Do you take advantage of all + dog's educational opportunities … free auditing, free phone consults, study halls, day school, classes, home visits, field trips, and more? Then consider yourself in the running! Are you a new client and just getting on track? Don't worry … we award a dog-owner team of year, each and every year. YOU could be 2014 or 2015's!

"Bringing a dog into your life includes many responsibilities, such as safety, nutrition and love, in order to have an enjoyable lifelong partnership that both you and your dog will treasure. The partnership I have with my dogs is a result of fairness (knowing when to reward and correct), consistency (being an appropriate leader 24/7), fun (when to cut loose and just be a human and a dog), love (on terms both you and your dog understand) and communication (being able to read each other and anticipate what is expected at both ends of the leash). Some parts of a partnership come from the heart and common sense; other parts come from invaluable training and hard work. I have my hard work and Jenifer Vickery's invaluable training at The Pawsitive Dog to thank for the enjoyable lifelong partnership I now treasure with my dogs!"
— Denise B.

As the pawsitive dog entered 2010,
we once again honored a client who's embodied
our mission of helping owners and their dogs
develop enjoyable, lifelong partnerships
during our first ever year-end awards ceremony
"PAWSAPALOOZA."

Renee began training at + dog in April of 2000
with the goal of calming that puppy-beast
known as Tucket.

Along with this high honor, Renee & Tucket will
receive an unlimited, lifetime scholarship to
+ dog for free classes and day school for Tucket,
along with a $50 shopping spree at Skipton's.

"Our + dog education served us very well throughout our life together. Our journey, like all enjoyable relationships, grew better and better every single day. If I could offer advice, it would be to encourage every owner to work towards a relationship built on consistency, trust, direction, understanding, fairness, laughter, fun, and adventure -- always allowing them the opportunity to be a dog. I never once stopped seeking out things to do with Tuckie in our 13 years together. The trust, devotion, comfort, and security in his eyes as I held him in my arms for our last few minutes together, told me that I had, in fact, done everything right."
— Renee R.
